Performance Data
Assessment at Milton Abbot School is part of our daily routine. We assess so that we can quickly identify misconceptions or depth of understanding. At the end of each term, the children complete an assessment week during which a range of activities are designed to enable the class teacher to make a formal judgement as to whether a pupil is on track to achieve age-related expectation for their current year group. If not, we have a robust system of intervention, including additional experts and personal tutors. The performance data below indicates the percentage of pupils reaching the age-related standard at the end of the Primary Phase (Year 6). However, at Milton Abbot School we know that successful SATs results are only a small part of ensuring a pupil is Secondary ready – we want them to be articulate, confident, creative and independent, which a test does not necessarily demonstrate!
