Welcome to the Milton Abbot School Safeguarding CircleWe take our duty of care and responsibility for promoting healthy welfare very seriously. We are all fully committed to the Department for Education statement: ‘Everyone has a duty to safeguard children and protect them from harm.’ This is taken from the DfE document ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education': (Sept 2022)
Our ‘Safeguarding Circle’ represents the robust, joined up systems at Milton Abbot School that encircle our children to fully protect and shield them from harm. 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', lists such possible harm as: abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. Staff members working with children are advised to maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here’ and ‘it could be happening to this child’, where safeguarding is concerned. When concerned about the welfare of a child, staff members should always act in the best interests of the child. From time to time, there may be situations where you need some extra help and support. If things are not right at home, please come and talk to us. We can help in many ways.
